Data Center Virtualization

Evaluating the unified virtual infrastructure from a holistic perspective

Virtualization is revolutionizing the data center and creating efficiencies never before realized by dynamically sharing critical and expensive resources between applications as they are needed (or on demand). A fully virtualized data center cannot be achieved successfully through server virtualization alone. The underlying LAN and storage area network (SAN) infrastructure must provide a virtual machine environment with deterministic performance, security, availability and manageability.

INX's approach to data center architecture evaluates the organization's existing IT infrastructure from a holistic perspective, including not just the servers, but storage, backup, network, and disaster recovery. These five core components of a virtual infrastructure are all interdependent. Some organizations evaluate these areas as isolated IT projects, but we see them as interconnected components of a unified virtual infrastructure. This allows us to identify many synergies and efficiencies that provide unparalleled functional and economic advantages.
